What is WES Lottie Tour?WES Lottie Tour is an annual campaign that takes 'Lottie' to many different locations accompanying lots of different engineering friends who show Lottie the work they do in engineering and related careers. Lottie's experiences are shared across social media using #WESLottieTour.
Lottie has captured the imagination of hundreds of people throughout the UK and beyond, travelling to many countries including USA, Malawi and Antarctica. 2024 will be the ninth WES Lottie Tour and we will once again show how varied and exciting it is to work in engineering. We are going to be showcasing Lottie throughout the year with a huge round up throughout Tomorrow's Engineers week in November 2024! |
Who is WES Lottie Tour aimed at?WES Lottie Tour has a number of audiences - its primary aim is for Lottie to inspire and encourage young girls (and boys) to think of careers in engineering and STEM subjects to be open to everyone.
To reach the younger audience, we need to target parents and educators to showcase these careers. The means for doing this is the WES Lottie Tour. Each year we invite people working in engineering careers to 'borrow' Lottie and share their experiences with everyone using #WESLottieTour on social media. If you would like to be involved please sign up today and take Lottie on the #WESLottieTour. |
Why WES Lottie Tour ?WES Lottie Tour was dreamed up by the Women's Engineering Society Early Careers Board (WES ECB) and the people who gave birth to Lottie - Arklu. The Early Careers Board is a group of young volunteer women, working and studying within engineering who are passionate about the wonderful and varied careers available in their fields.
The ECB continues to run WES Lottie Tour every year and is delighted with the response we get. |
Lottie's safety and security is of utmost importance all all times, She wants all children to be aware of stranger danger. If Lottie's young friends want to have experiences like Lottie it is essential their parent or carer is aware of where they are going and who with, and give their approval first!
