The WES Early Careers Board (ECB)

The WES ECB (Early Careers Board) was formed in June 2016 and consists of twelve women early in their engineering careers who are working, training or studying in an engineering field. The ECB's aim is to make WES more accessible to members in a similar position, to be inclusive and, to reflect their concerns and priorities of early career women engineers. The women members of the ECB also act as role models for women considering engineering and applied science. The ECB enables those women engineers at the beginning of their journey to influence the direction of travel of WES, with the opportunity for personal, professional and leadership development through board experience and involvement in projects and strategy setting.

The ECB has created a number of initiatives since it was formed including the 'Engineering a Better World' poster and booklet and currently the '100 Violets' project - funded by an Ingenious Grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering
